An Executive type HDB flat in Block 99B, LOR 2 TOA PAYOH was rented out for $6,000 a month, according to HDB records just released for Sep 2022. This compares with a median rental for Executive flats of only $3,800 per month for Toa Payoh in the month of Sep 2022.
This is the highest rental recorded for a HDB flat since records were published in May 2021 and probably the highest ever on record since the rental trend for HDB has been strongly upwards in the past 2 years, as seen in the chart below.

This rental also tops the rentals for 3-Bedroom condo units just across the road in Trevista, which achieved only a top rate of $5,500! As the internal furnishings and fittings of the flat is unknown, it is hard to tell to whether this above-market rate is justified in any way.

Given the humongous premium (58%) above the median rental of $3,800 in Toa Payoh in Sep 2022, this rate is unlikely to become the norm in the near future. The second highest rental rate recorded in the same month of Sep 2022 is $4,800 in Toa Payoh (for a 5-ROOM flat) and $5,300 (for a 4-ROOM flat) in Pinnacle@Duxton if you compare island-wide.
But given how crazy the rental markets have been, I may need to eat my own words. Just look at the rental rates for Sep 2022 island-wide below.
